Zeekr 9X – New Luxury Flagship for Europe

Zeekr Wants 200 European Dealers. But Will Buyers Trust a New Name?

A new car brand can attract buyers with an impressive specification sheet. Keeping those buyers happy after the purchase is a different matter, especially when the nearest authorised workshop is miles away.

Zeekr is about to find out how difficult that can be.

The Chinese manufacturer wants to have 200 dealerships across Europe before the end of 2026. It announced the target at the Paris Motor Show, where it also reported a 200 percent rise in European deliveries between January and September.

That’s three times as many cars as during the same period last year. However, Zeekr didn’t publish the actual sales total, which makes the increase harder to put into perspective.

The company is now present in 22 European markets. Finland, Poland and Austria are among its more recent additions.

Opening new dealerships should make the brand easier to find, but there’s more involved than putting cars in a showroom. Customers need somewhere to arrange servicing, deal with warranty problems and obtain replacement parts.

For an unfamiliar manufacturer, those details can influence a purchase as much as the car itself.

Zeekr already has several models competing for European buyers. The X is its smaller electric SUV, while the 7X offers more room for families. The 001 and newer 7GT provide alternatives for people who aren’t interested in another tall SUV.

The company also brought its 9X flagship to Paris.

Prices in France begin at €119,500, putting it into a market where buyers have plenty of established luxury brands to consider. Zeekr says the first 200 examples were reserved before the price was announced.

Deliveries are expected to start in January 2027.

There was news about the 7X, too. An updated version appeared at the show with changes to its interior, exterior and driver-assistance systems. European customers should begin receiving it during the first quarter of 2027.

Zeekr says more than 200,000 examples of the 7X have been produced worldwide.

That gives the company a useful foundation, although success in China doesn’t automatically translate into European customer loyalty.

Someone spending over €100,000 on a 9X will expect prompt service if something fails. Even buyers choosing the smaller X will want straightforward warranty support.

Zeekr can expand its model range and open dealerships relatively quickly. Building the confidence that brings customers back for a second car will take longer.

The next few years should show whether its European expansion is about more than impressive sales percentages.
